The MAMA "Mother Nature" international art project, which advocates for environmental protection, was presented at the Bahrain Art Center. Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, and Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, participated in the event.
The project, which debuted at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), begins its first journey in Bahrain to address the pressing issue of climate change.
Co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Center, IDEA Public Union, RAK Art Foundation of Bahrain, and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the exhibition serves as a vital call for environmental protection through art.
Rashid Al Khalifa, Founder of the RAK Art Foundation, emphasized the significance of holding the exhibition in Bahrain, noting that it supports ongoing efforts for cultural exchange. “We will enrich our local art milieu and contribute to the global dialogue on such important issues as environmental protection through the MAMA international exhibition,” Rashid Al Khalifa underlined.
Leyla Aliyeva highlighted the global challenges posed by climate change and the importance of creative approaches to solving these issues through the MAMA "Mother Nature" project. She underscored the urgency of sustainable development in the face of global warming and called for collective action to safeguard the planet for future generations.
The exhibition features over 100 works of art by 55 artists from 29 countries, including pieces by Rashid Al Khalifa and Leyla Aliyeva.
The MAMA "Mother Nature" international art project will be open to visitors until March 25 at the Bahrain Art Center, showcasing paintings, sculptures, installations, and multimedia works that address the environmental challenges facing the world today.
