As a result of excavations carried out in the liberated areas of Azerbaijan since February 2021, 23 burial sites have been identified, according to an assessment report by the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) "Accounting for the Missing Persons in the Republic of Azerbaijan," AzVision.az reports.
As noted, the remains of a total of 187 people were discovered in those sites and handed over to the investigation:
"During the past period, biological samples from families have been taken and DNA profiles have been obtained. Human remains belonging to missing Azerbaijanis have been discovered in those sites."
