Azerbaijan allocates over $ 11 million for residential project in Aghdam

The construction of several additional multifunctional, mid-rise residential buildings will take place in Aghdam city of Karabakh, specifically in residential areas No. 4, 9, and 10.

The State Service for Restoration, Construction, and Management Service in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavend regions has enlisted the company "Merkuri-Inşaat" for the construction, AzVision.az reports, citing local media.

As part of the agreement, the LLC has been allocated a budget of 19.3 million AZN ($11.3 million) for the project.

Meanwhile, earlier, the service had announced the initiation of construction for multifunctional mid-rise residential buildings in the first through eighth neighborhoods of the same complex, with an expected expenditure of 137.2 million manat ($80.7 million).

The construction work in the ninth and tenth neighborhoods will be carried out by "Merkuri-Inshaat" LLC, which was officially registered in 2007.

Note that, Azerbaijan is accelerating its post-war reconstruction with plans to resettle 10,000 people in Aghdam city and nearby villages by year’s end, increasing to 20,000 by the close of 2026.

However, the government’s "Great Return" programme aims to facilitate the comeback of 140,000 internally displaced persons by 2026, with further phases planned through 2040. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation is playing a key role in reviving the cultural and historical heritage of the region, reinforcing Azerbaijan’s commitment to sustainable, large-scale development and regional resilience.
