Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation on March 12 to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues.
During the call, Bayramov emphasized the importance of political dialogue in strengthening Azerbaijan-Iran ties. Both ministers highlighted the strategic significance of joint projects in energy, transport, and investment between the two nations. They also discussed transport corridors through Iran and infrastructure projects connecting Azerbaijan's western regions to its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which open up new opportunities for the region.
The ministers acknowledged the role of the intergovernmental economic commission in enhancing trade and economic relations and also exchanged views on other areas of mutual interest.
