Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, met with North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and her delegation to discuss expanding cooperation between the two nations.
Gafarova emphasized that high-level visits play a vital role in strengthening political relations and expressed confidence that this meeting would further boost bilateral ties. Both sides highlighted opportunities for collaboration in key sectors, including economy, trade, investment, energy, transport, and agriculture.
President Siljanovska-Davkova described Azerbaijan as a friendly nation and reiterated North Macedonia’s commitment to deepening ties. She shared insights from her meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, discussing Azerbaijan’s green energy initiatives and the significance of upcoming global events like COP29 and the 12th Global Baku Forum.
Gafarova also stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation, particularly within international organizations. She provided an overview of Azerbaijan’s peace efforts following the liberation of its territories and its role in ensuring Europe’s energy security.
Both leaders acknowledged the value of cultural, educational, and humanitarian exchanges, with the North Macedonian President praising Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage.
The meeting concluded with discussions on various topics of mutual interest.
