Azerbaijan continues to take proactive diplomatic steps amid global challenges, Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov stated during the 5th panel session, “Middle Powers in the New World Order,” at the 12th Global Baku Forum.
He emphasized that traditional values are being undermined, and violations of the UN Charter persist. Reflecting on Azerbaijan’s history, he noted the country endured years of military aggression by Armenia. However, through initiatives like the Organization of Turkic States, which strengthens annually, and the Non-Aligned Movement, the world’s second-largest platform after the UN, Azerbaijan plays a significant diplomatic role.
Mammadov also stressed that in today’s evolving global landscape, nations must prioritize their national interests and economic independence to maintain sovereignty and resilience.
