Azerbaijan is committed to strengthening ties with the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and expanding collaboration across various sectors, Finance Minister Sahil Babayev stated during a meeting with ECO Secretary General Asad Majeed Khan.
Khan praised Azerbaijan’s active role in the ECO and its efforts to enhance regional cooperation. The discussion focused on boosting trade, transport, finance, and tourism among member states, with an emphasis on organizing business forums to foster entrepreneurship.
Both sides also underscored the importance of the ECO Trade and Development Bank in driving economic growth. They agreed that increasing the bank’s role in project financing would support regional trade, improve transport links, and promote broader economic development.
