Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan engaged in a phone conversation to discuss pressing issues on the bilateral, regional, and global fronts.
During the conversation, the ministers emphasized the significant progress made in negotiating the text of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, a development that has been highly praised by Moscow, AzVision.az reports via Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to the ministry, both Lavrov and Mirzoyan discussed a variety of topics, with particular attention given to the ongoing peace treaty negotiations between Yerevan and Baku. The two ministers acknowledged the constructive steps taken toward finalizing the terms of the agreement, with Moscow expressing strong support for the process.
"The progress in agreeing the text of the peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku, which was highly appreciated in Moscow, was noted," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in its report. The treaty is expected to play a crucial role in stabilizing relations between the two neighboring nations.
Additionally, the ministers deliberated on the schedule and content of upcoming interstate contacts. These discussions are seen as an essential part of maintaining dialogue and furthering cooperation between the two countries, especially in light of recent developments in the region.
