Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Mehdi Sanaei, Political Advisor to the President of Iran, to discuss regional security and strengthen bilateral ties.
The meeting focused on key areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, covering political, economic, trade, energy security, transportation, and communication sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogue, reciprocal visits, and joint initiatives in fostering stronger relations.
Bayramov and Sanaei highlighted the significance of joint projects that enhance regional transport corridors and economic connectivity. They also underscored the role of the State Commission for Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran as a vital platform for advancing trade, economic, and humanitarian collaboration.
Additionally, discussions covered mutual engagement in regional and international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Economic Cooperation Organization, CICA, and D-8, reinforcing Azerbaijan and Iran’s commitment to broader diplomatic and economic partnerships.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared interest in deepening cooperation across multiple sectors while addressing regional security challenges.
