The incident was confirmed in a joint statement by the Press Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office, and the Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), AzVision.az reports.
The statement revealed that Nuraddin Abbasov, a resident of Aghdam district born in 1968, was injured while herding livestock. He accidentally entered an uncleared former frontline area, where he stepped on an anti-personnel mine. As a result, he sustained injuries to his leg and was evacuated to the hospital.
The Aghdam District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.
"ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office once again urge citizens to adhere to safety regulations, pay close attention to mine hazard warnings, and avoid entering unfamiliar areas," the statement emphasized.
