Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met with a Chinese delegation led by Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Lauding the positive momentum between the two countries, the parties noted that, thanks to the political will and joint efforts of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, these relations have reached their highest level.
The sides emphasized that the adoption of the Joint Declaration on the establishment of a strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China, signed by both leaders last year, marked the beginning of a qualitatively new stage in interstate relations.
Commending the cooperation between the New Azerbaijan Party and the Communist Party of China, they underscored the importance of this interaction in strengthening relations between the two countries.
The meeting focused on current issues on the agenda of the Azerbaijan-China mutually beneficial partnership and promising projects in various sectors. The sides also deliberated on collaboration in key areas such as trade and economy, investment, green energy, transport and logistics, digital development, innovative technologies, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and tourism.
Noting the importance of the Middle Corridor for Eurasia as a whole, including the countries of the South Caucasus, PM Ali Asadov emphasized that the launch of the Zangezur corridor will provide a major impetus for the development of the Middle Corridor.
