Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Tanzila Narbaeva, Speaker of the Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis, during her working visit to Russia.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the ongoing, dynamic development of relations between the two friendly and brotherly nations. They credited the strong political will and leadership of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan for ushering in a new phase of cooperation across various sectors.
Highlighting the vital role of inter-parliamentary dialogue, the speakers discussed how legislative bodies contribute to deepening bilateral ties. Tanzila Narbaeva congratulated Sahiba Gafarova on the successful organization of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network conference held earlier in Tashkent.
Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that reciprocal parliamentary visits between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are held regularly and play a pivotal role in enhancing cooperation between the two legislatures.
The meeting also covered a range of other topics of mutual interest.
