Azerbaijan is represented at the 4th International Bakhshi Art Festival and the 2nd Turkic World Culture Forum held in Khiva, Uzbekistan, from April 26–28, under the leadership of Minister of Culture Adil Karimli.
The festival is organized by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture with the support of UNESCO and ICESCO, gathering around 200 cultural figures and performers from over 40 countries.
Uzbekistan’s Culture Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov emphasized that international events strengthen cultural ties and preserve shared values, while highlighting the importance of the first Forum held in Shusha, Azerbaijan, in 2023.
Speaking at the forum, Minister Adil Karimli noted that cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are flourishing. He stressed the significance of hosting the event in Khiva, bringing together institutions, artists, and media to promote Turkic heritage.
Karimli also recalled the success of the first Forum in Shusha, where key initiatives like the Turkic World Cultural Route project were launched. He underlined that deepening cooperation with Turkic states is a key part of Azerbaijan’s cultural policy, guided by President Ilham Aliyev’s vision.
The festival also features an international conference on modern research and perspectives in Bakhshi art.
