Within the framework of the NATO Familiarisation Programme, participants from the Ministries of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Serbia and Uzbekistan visited the Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to NATO.
The overall aim of the Programme was to provide the participants with a detailed overview of NATO outreach programmes and activities.
During the visit of the participants, the Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to NATO has delivered a presentation sharing the experiences of Azerbaijan on the practical aspects of partnership with NATO. Within the framework of the meeting, the Head of the Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to NATO, Jafar Huseynzada, provided information about the exceptional role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern independent state of Azerbaijan, in laying the foundations of the Azerbaijan-NATO partnership. Additionally, information was given regarding President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s visits to the NATO headquarters, as well as, the attention and care given by the President to the development of Azerbaijan-NATO partnership. Participants were also informed about the political dialogue and practical partnership of Azerbaijan with NATO as a reliable partner of the Alliance, as well as the contributions of Azerbaijan to international peace and security, particularly in terms of energy security of the NATO allies and partners.
Additionally, the Military Mission of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to the NATO Military Committee briefed the participants on the military partnership of Azerbaijan with NATO.
