National Leader Heydar Aliyev`s 102nd anniversary marked in Saint Petersburg

An event and concert program commemorating the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was arranged at the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella, organized by the Azerbaijan`s Consulate General in the city.

The event brought together Maxim Poletaev, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry`s representative office in St. Petersburg, Dmitry Kobitsky, Secretary General of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, representatives of the St. Petersburg government and Legislative Assembly, consuls general of Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, diaspora activists, students, artists and scientists.

In his opening remarks, Anar Yusifzade, Acting Head of the Consulate General, described Heydar Aliyev as a unique historical figure for the Azerbaijani people and the architect of an independent and strong Azerbaijan. He emphasized the National Leader’s foundational role in building the modern Azerbaijani state.

Maxim Poletaev underscored Heydar Aliyev’s significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijan-Russia relations. He noted that the strategic partnership between the two nations was shaped through the efforts of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Vladimir Putin.

The event featured a video presentation highlighting the life and achievements of the National Leader, as well as a book and photo exhibition.
