 Baku hosts 6th plenary meeting of GlobE Network

The sixth plenary meeting of the UN's Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities, GlobE Network, is being held in Baku, AzVision.az reports.

More than 300 representatives from over 120 government agencies from 92 countries, including 21 prosecutors' offices, 53 independent anti-corruption agencies and 16 international organizations, are participating in the event in person, and more than 60 participants are participating online.

More than 100 speeches are planned in panels, sessions and side events.

The event is attended by about 50 senior officials representing law enforcement agencies from different countries.

The plenary session themed “Prospects of applying new technologies and artificial intelligence in the fight against corruption”, includes more than 100 speeches in panels, sessions and parallel events on the confiscation of funds obtained as a result of corruption, direct recovery of acquired assets, stopping suspicious transactions in financial transactions, international cooperation on the rapid freezing of bank accounts in criminal proceedings, public awareness in the fight against corruption and other sub-topics.

At the same time, a special session and parallel events on the fight against environmental violations will be held within the framework of the plenary session on the initiative of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty, as well as in connection with Azerbaijan's COP29 presidency.

In addition, numerous bilateral meetings and the signing of memoranda of mutual cooperation are planned at the event.

The international event will last until May 23.
