Azerbaijan’s diplomatic mission in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay held an official reception in Montevideo to mark the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uruguay.
The national anthems of both countries were performed. Ambassador Ramzi Teymurov delivered remarks highlighting the history of the establishment and collapse of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, as well as the Azerbaijani people's struggle for freedom and self-determination.
Guests were then informed about the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the restoration efforts in the Karabakh region, and trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uruguay.
Following the official reception, participants received books showcasing Azerbaijan’s history, culture, and economic achievements, along with works by renowned Azerbaijani poets Nizami Ganjavi and Imadaddin Nasimi, and a selection of other informative brochures.
