“The transformation of Guadeloupe into a French colony is part of France’s policy of inequality. The unemployment rate here is 18-20 percent - much higher than in mainland France - and the region remains underdeveloped,” said Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), at a conference dedicated to Guadeloupe, AzVision.az reports.
