 Shahdag Overcomes Seasonality

‘Seasonality has always been a big challenge for mountain ski resorts, the period between winter and summer being the hardest’, says Igor Shaulov Commercial Director at ShahdagMountain Resort at the panel session dedicated to elimination of the seasonality factor in Turkic ski resorts and expansion of relations in this regard at the 1st summit of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts on 12 July at Shahdag Tourism Centre.

Nevertheless, the number of visitors has grown by 100% these past years, which testifies to a rapid growth of interest in ski resorts, especially among foreign tourists. The audience traveling in the off-season are mainly from the Persian Gulf countries and India. We’ve also seen growing interest among Chinese tourists. We are hard at work to attract them, and it has become easier to accommodate new guest flows thanks to the new interstate agreements signed among our states.’

We are launching new activities to diversify leisure to maintain and expand this interest. We have built a new type of accommodation this year and are preparing to open a hotel, which will be fully ready for the winter season. It will allow us to attract new clients and improve our service levels. We also have our own school, which will operate in winter, providing additional services for the vacationers’, Shaulov concludes.
