At the invitation of Muhsin Şentürk, General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Türkiye, a delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev is visiting Ankara to further strengthen cooperation between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries.
As part of the visit, the delegation paid tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev by laying a wreath at his monument in the park named in his honor in Ankara. They also visited the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Türkiye, where a wreath was laid at his grave. Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev signed the Book of Honor at the mausoleum.
During a meeting at the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal, Muhsin Şentürk emphasized the importance of the ongoing high-level cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev noted that the fraternal ties between the two nations are best reflected in the words of National Leader Heydar Aliyev — “One nation, two states” — and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk — “The joy of Azerbaijan is our joy, the sorrow of Azerbaijan is our sorrow.”
The meeting featured a broad exchange of views on legal cooperation.
On the same day, the delegation also met with Ömer Kerkez, President of the Court of Cassation of Türkiye. The sides noted the successful and sustained cooperation among the prosecution, judiciary, and justice systems of both countries.
On July 22, the delegation met with Turkish Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç. Discussions focused on legal assistance, extradition, exchange programs, and opportunities for collaboration within the framework of the Turkish Judicial Training Network.
The delegation also held a meeting with Türkiye’s Chief Ombudsman, Mehmet Akarca. The sides exchanged views on promoting human rights and freedoms, implementing joint initiatives in legal education, and expanding institutional cooperation.
The meetings were attended by Rashad Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Türkiye.
As part of the visit, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev also visited the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara, where he met with embassy staff and discussed ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation across various fields.
