Azerbaijan relocates 62 more residents to Khojaly

Azerbaijan initiated another phase of resettlement to the Khanyurdu village of the Khojaly district on Monday, AzVision.az reports.

As part of this phase, 19 families, comprising 62 individuals, were relocated to the village.

The Khanyurdu residents being relocated to their native lands are families who were temporarily settled in different parts of the country, mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.

Currently, over 50,000 people reside in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, including former internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have returned to the region. This population also comprises individuals engaged in various development projects, employees of local branches of state institutions, and professionals working in revitalized sectors such as healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy.
