Estonian publication highlights key outcomes of President Ilham Aliyev

The Estonian publication Business-M has published an article highlighting the key outcomes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s working visit to the U.S. at the invitation of President Donald Trump.

Headlined "Azerbaijan and the U.S.: A New Stage of Strategic Partnership", the article provided an insight into the meetings held with President Donald Trump during the visit, as well as the "Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America on the establishment of a Strategic Working Group to prepare the Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America."

The publication mentioned that the establishment of a Strategic Working Group is especially important for creating an institutional basis for bilateral practical cooperation.

“The visit was also marked by the signing of an executive document by the U.S. President suspending the enforcement of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act during the meeting of the presidents of the two countries, which is of great symbolic importance,” the article noted.

“The visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the U.S. brought about key agreements that strengthened the strategic partnership between the two countries. The signing of memoranda and declarations opens up new prospects in energy, security, and the economy. An important step was the suspension of Section 907, which removed obstacles in bilateral relations. U.S. negotiations with Armenia, which were conducted under the auspices of the US, brings the signing of a peace agreement closer. This visit was a historic milestone in the politics of the region and Azerbaijani-American relations,” the article emphasized.
