Bahar Muradova, Chair of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, met with a delegation led by Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction & Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Kairat Sarybay.

Speaking at the meeting, Bahar Muradova emphasized that Azerbaijan has leveraged its strategic geopolitical position to become a key contributor to the development of crucial transport corridors, noting that the first-ever CICA Think Tank Forum took place outside China, in Azerbaijan.

She expressed confidence that Azerbaijan would successfully continue its policies in other international organizations during its CICA chairmanship and contribute to peace, security, and cooperation among peoples at the crossroads of China and Europe.

The Chair of the Committee also noted that CICA, as a platform for dialogue, is in the process of becoming a full-fledged international organization and is currently undergoing a period of re-establishment and development. She emphasized that the family institution and the empowerment of women would be central to the organization’s future activities, expressing confidence that this approach will significantly contribute to solidarity among member countries and the development of societies.

Highlighting the activities carried out by CICA during its existence, Kairat Sarybay noted that the organization has made significant progress in recent years in building mutual trust among member states, strengthening institutional processes, promoting dialogue, and implementing joint initiatives.

The Secretary General commended Azerbaijan’s active role in CICA and the initiatives it put forward during its chairmanship, emphasizing the measures taken to develop the organization and enhance its effectiveness at the international level.

The meeting took place in a spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation. Both sides agreed to organize joint events within CICA in the near future and to further deepen their cooperation.
