Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the importance of the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly. He expressed his gratitude to the Speaker of the Milli Majlis for her participation in the event.
The Prime Minister asked to convey his greetings and best wishes to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
During the conversation, Anwar Ibrahim noted that they were following Azerbaijan`s dynamic development. He emphasized that Malaysia hails Azerbaijan`s achievements, its economic progress and growing international authority.
Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova stressed the importance of the friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia.
The sides hailed the mutual support of both countries across various international organizations.
The meeting discussed cooperation between the two parliaments.
The parties emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits and joint efforts of parliamentarians, positive cooperation within the organizations, such as the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.
The Speaker of the Milli Majlis highlighted Azerbaijan`s achievements across various areas, projects implemented in the liberated territories, and progress made to return former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their native lands.
