Turkish expert: Armenian oligarchs in need of Karabakh crisis
Some politicians benefit from the crises such as the Nagorno-Karabakh as a means of propaganda. Armenia seems to make the best use of the recent tensions on the frontline in the country and abroad, expert Mehmet Fatih Oztarsu, who is also a co-president of the Strategic Outlook Research Center, said in his article titled “Armenian oligarchs are in need of Karabakh crisis”, published in the Turkish Zaman newspaper.

According to him, Armenian authorities, who always cover up the exact information on Armenia’s military losses on the frontline, are trying to win the trust of the people by regularly disseminating false information on killing of dozens of Azerbaijani soldiers.

“The clashes that are no longer extraordinary for Karabakh and raised when needed, are in favor of Serzh Sargsyan and his clan. The Armenian authorities, concealing abuses and soldier suicides in the army, turning blind eyes to objections of military families, are strenuously trying to hide the realities on the frontline. The Armenian authorities, which have already gone daft from the corruption-related problems and the ongoing constitutional debate, need the Karabakh crisis more than ever.

The expert said it is difficult to achieve any change under the constitution in Armenia, adding that supporters of the opposition are growing as a result of its tough but reasonable criticism.
