He noted that Azerbaijani ambassadors should closely follow discussions within think tanks. “I remember the friendships I made during those years and how different countries presented themselves in the U.S. At that time, very few people from Azerbaijan visited the U.S., and diplomacy was a completely new field for me. Many people were unfamiliar with Azerbaijan, and there was insufficient information about the country. However, today, Azerbaijan is attracting great interest from many countries around the world,” Pashayev emphasized.
The rector also referred to Azerbaijan’s accession to the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia as a full-fledged participant. “I believe this step will be beneficial for both sides. It is my hope that this forum will generate new ideas and perspectives,” he added.
