New Azerbaijan Party delegation visits Brazil

On November 20-23, a delegation of Azerbaijan, led by Tahir Budagov, Tahir Budagov, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), Head of the Central Apparatus, visited Brazil at the invitation of the Centrist Democrat International (IDC-CDI).

As part of the trip, the Azerbaijani delegation joined the “Democratic Concertation: The centre-right building bridges and solutions in politics” Forum, co-organized by the Democratic Space Foundation of the Brazilian Social Democratic Party (PSDB), and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), on November 21.

Andrés Pastana, IDC-CDI President, former President of Columbia, and other officials addressed the forum.

The NAP delegation also visited the Sao Paulo Museum of Art.

The Azerbaijani delegation then joined the General Assembly meeting of the IDC-CDI Executive Committee on November 22.

During the meeting, the protocol of the previous gathering in Ivory Coast, dated May 30, 2025 was approved. The meeting also heard reports from IDC-CDI Andrés Pastana, IDC-CDI Secretary General Antonio López- Istúriz White, and other officials.

The participants adopted the Action Plan and the organization’s budget for 2026, also appointing the president and vice-president of the organization.

The trip also included bilateral meetings with Suos Yara, Chairman of the National Assembly Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information of Cambodia; and Kinga Gál, Vice-President of Hungary's ruling Fidesz party and member of the European Parliament, focusing on the current state and prospects of relations between the ruling parties.
