Mandatory health insurance boosts service quality at Khazar Medical Centre

The introduction of mandatory health insurance has contributed to the improvement of the quality of medical services and the strengthening of infrastructure at Khazar Medical Centre,’ said Aynura Ahmadova, Head of the Marketing and Public Relations Department at the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance, at a media tour organized by TABIB and the State Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance at Khazar Medical Centre.

She noted that in recent years, the infrastructure at the centre has been updated, and with the installation of modern medical equipment, its diagnostic and treatment capabilities have expanded significantly.

"Currently, the Centre is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, including electromyography (used to measure electrical activity of muscles), treadmill stress tests, Holter monitoring, gastroscopy, spirometry, colonoscopy, ultrasound, bronchoscopy, colposcopy, electrocardiography, and specialized devices for Avastin injections. The Avastin injection procedure is performed exclusively at this Centre", she added.

Ahmadova also highlighted that a 24/7 Level-3 laboratory has been established at the healthcare facility.

"This has greatly improved patients’ access to urgent and accurate diagnostic services. Alongside the implementation of mandatory health insurance, an Emergency and Urgent Medical Care Department has been created at Khazar Medical Centre, now providing uninterrupted service to patients", she highlighted.

The department head reports that the Centre received nearly 90,000 patient inquiries in the first six months of this year, provided over 248,000 services in total, and carried out 821 surgical procedures under mandatory health insurance.
