Finnish President Stubb expresses surprise over Armenia-Azerbaijan peace breakthrough - VIDEO

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has admitted that he was highly skeptical about the prospect of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan earlier this year, contrasting that prediction with the surprising progress seen in several global conflicts.

Speaking to the Buitenhof channel, President Stubb reflected on the geopolitical shifts:

"If someone had told me at the beginning of the year that we would have a ceasefire in Gaza, or that there would be a ceasefire and a potential peace agreement for Ukraine, or that peace would break out between Azerbaijan and Armenia, I would have answered that it was highly unlikely."

He continued on a hopeful note: "But now, two out of those three things have become a reality, and hopefully by Christmas, we will have the third one as well."
