A delegation from Azerbaijan, led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev, is participating in the eleventh session of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption in Doha, Qatar.
During the conference, Prosecutor General Aliyev addressed a panel organized by the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network). The leadership of GlobE Network expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its active contributions to the network’s initiatives.
Speaking at the panel, Kamran Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan places great importance on cooperation with the UN and other international organizations in combating corruption. He highlighted the successful organization of the sixth plenary meeting of the GlobE Network in Baku earlier this year.
In addition, a special session on responsible environmental protection measures was jointly organized by the Azerbaijan Prosecutor General’s Office, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the Green Climate Fund.
On the following day, Rovshan Sadigbeyli, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Vienna, OSCE, and other international organizations, chaired the plenary session after being elected Deputy Chairman of the Assembly for the Eastern European region. The session included reports from delegations of various countries on their national anti-corruption efforts.
The conference is scheduled to conclude on December 19.
