A new 2,800-metre-long cable car line and 10 kilometres of new ski slopes are set to be put into operation by the end of January 2026 at Shahdag Mountain Resort, said Rustam Najafov, Chairman of the Resort, operating under the State Tourism Agency (STA), during a two-day media tour organized to launch the winter season.

He added that, as a result of construction of new routes, the total length of ski slopes in Shahdag will reach 45 kilometres.

‘This is a positive trend compared to Europe and contributes to competitiveness. The new 10-passenger gondola-type cable car is the longest cable car line ever built in Shahdag. The previous one was 2,700 metres long. All inspection and maintenance work on the routes has been completed,’ Najafov said.

Najafov explained that depending on weather conditions, all ski slopes will be fully prepared for tourist use by the end of December.
