Azerbaijani Ombudsperson meets outgoing UN Resident Coordinator

Sabina Aliyeva, Azerbaijan’s Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson), met with Vladanka Andreeva, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the country, on the occasion of the completion of her tenure.

Recalling the fruitful cooperation with the UN Charter bodies and treaty bodies, Sabina Aliyeva noted that this collaboration has made a significant contribution to the advancement of human rights and the development of legal culture.

She commended the joint projects implemented with the UN and its specialized agencies in recent years, as well as events and competitions organized in connection with International Human Rights Day.

Sabina Aliyeva expressed her gratitude to the outgoing UN Resident Coordinator for the constructive cooperation in the field of human rights during her mission in Azerbaijan and wished her success in her future endeavors.

Vladanka Andreeva, in turn, praised the Azerbaijani Ombudsperson’s efforts to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms.
