Azerbaijan, Malaysia enhance cooperation in emergency situations

As part of his visit to Malaysia, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, met with Mohammad Abiddin Abd Rahman, Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force.

The meeting highlighted the importance of international cooperation in emergency management amid climate change and the increasing frequency of natural and man-made disasters.

During the discussions, the sides noted that, within the framework of cooperation based on friendship and mutual trust between the two countries, it would be beneficial to exchange experience in natural disaster response and crisis management between the emergency agencies of Azerbaijan and Malaysia, as well as to implement joint training and advanced training programs.

The parties expressed confidence that the current visit and discussions would give further impetus to the expansion of bilateral relations.
