Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev met with Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission.
The meeting focused on the development of Nakhchivan’s transport infrastructure and the launch of preparations for a feasibility study in this area.
The sides exchanged views on the inclusion of the Zangezur corridor in the European Union’s Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), increasing the capacity and digitalization of the Middle Corridor, as well as prospects for cooperation with the EU in aviation, maritime transport, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
The discussions also covered strengthening human resource potential in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, the activities of EU companies in Azerbaijan, and opportunities for Azerbaijan’s participation in projects under the EU’s “Horizon Europe” research and innovation framework program.
