Azerbaijan has sovereign right to deny entry for a foreign national. Entry of a foreign national to Azerbaijan is regulated by the laws on state border and migration, and other legal documents, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev told reporters on Oct.12.
Hajiev commented on Azerbaijan’s refusal of the entry for two employees of Amnesty International.
With regard to the upcoming parliamentary elections, the spokesman said the international media is paying much attention to the elections. “According to the law on mass media, the foreign ministry is receiving applications for registration of foreign media representatives,” he added.
