A meeting of the contact group of the Cooperation Council of the Turkish-speaking States was held in Istanbul to discuss the joint action plant of the Turkish-speaking Diasporas.

The news was announced by the Azerbaijani State Committee on Diaspora Affairs.

Secretary General of the Turkish-speaking States Halil Akinci provided an insight into the agenda.

The participants decided to establish a single center for the Diasporas existing in various corners of the globe. In addition, they agreed to prepare respective projects on establishing the Youth Commission with an aim to build relations among the young people of the member countries.

A proposal related to the Turkish representatives` organizing the of students, journalists, writers, and artists from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan to Turkey was adopted after discussions.

The contract group has unanimously adopted the proposal to hold an international conference titled "Shared Strategic Interests of the Turkish-speaking States and Their Role in the Region".
They also decided to hold a scientific conference on "Military Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in 1918-1920."
The participants also welcomed a proposal to organize a joint meeting of the Diaspora organizations from the Turkish-Speaking countries in France in April, 2015.

Discussions also revolved around the creation of Turkic language departments at the world`s reputable universities set out in the Joint Action Plan of the Turkish-Speaking Diaspora.
The Joint Action Plan was adopted after taking the proposals into account after discussions.
The participants later discussed the statute of single centers for the Diaspora organizations.

The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States was established in 2009 as an international intergovernmental organization, with the overarching aim of promoting comprehensive cooperation among Turkic-Speaking States. Its four founding member States are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey.

The first Summit of the Council took place in Almaty in 2011, while the second one was held in Bishkek last year.
