Earlier, Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office launched a criminal case into the abuse of power and other law violations by the officials of the Ministry of National Security.
The Prosecutor General’s Office also created an operative and investigative group.
The operative and investigative actions revealed grounded suspicions of abuse of power by a group of the ministry’s employees while conducting their service duties, and their unlawful interference in the work of business entities, violation of rights and lawful interests of individuals, contrary to the requirements of the law on the operative and investigative action.
Under the criminal case, seven officials of the ministry were brought to justice as accused under the criminal code’s articles 308.2, 309.1 and 302.2.
They are being charged with accusations provided for in these articles, and arrest has been chosen as a preventive measure in respect of them under relevant court decisions.
