Azerbaijan to continue co-op with UNDP on AzDATACOM project
Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan will continue to cooperate with the UNDP within the framework of the "e-governance initiative" joint project.
Issues of cooperation within the framework of this project were discussed by Minister of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov with the director of the regional center of the UN Development Program Olivier Adam.

Currently, the AzDATACOM network, which covers all regional centers and residential areas of Baku, has been built within the framework of the project.

The AzDATACOM transport network at its current characteristics is capable of delivering Internet traffic to the regional telecommunications nodes at the speed of 10 Gbit/s.

The ministry told Trend earlier that in order to expand the presence of AzDATACOM in remote villages, the Aztelekom LLC network infrastructure is being considered, which is the initiator of providing assistance to the development of activities of private Internet service providers at the regional level (mainly in remote villages of the country).
