Armenia as occupant country must act on int
“Use of force and threatening with use of force has become a means of political speculation for Armenia”

The Armenian leadership cannot have forgotten their statement “Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Armenia” dated 27 September 2015 which proves the invasion and annexation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Hikmat Hajiyev said on Oct.23.

Hajiyev was commenting on Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s speech at the forum of the graduates of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MSIIR) held in Yerevan.

He said that it would be better to recall the Armenian leadership who distorted the essence of the UN Security Council’s four resolutions that these resolutions have once again expresses support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and confirmed the fact that Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan. The resolutions demand the occupying forces withdraw from all the occupied Azerbaijani territories immediately, unconditionally, and completely.

Hajiyev noted that the resolutions also reiterate that violation of the internationally recognized borders of states and seizure of territory by use of force are unacceptable.

According to the document dated 23 March 1995 on the OSCE Minsk Group’s mandate, these resolutions should form the basis of the Minsk Group, he added.

“Use of force and threatening with use of force has become a means of political speculation for Armenia. The country has used [military] force against Azerbaijan, invading 20 percent of the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It’s Armenia, the occupying state, that is supposed to act on the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’ calls like avoidance from use of force and threatening with use of force. As a state continuing use of force and threatening with use of force – whereas it’s supposed to eliminate the consequences of the invasion and aggression and pull out its troops from the occupied Azerbaijani territories – the whole responsibility is upon Armenia,” Hajiyev stressed.

Hajiyev further said that the Armenian leadership must not forget that the Armenians have no relation to the South Caucasus from the archaeological, ethnographic and anthropological points of view.

“The Armenians resettled to the South Caucasus after the collapse of the Russian Empire created something resembling a state on the historical Azerbaijani lands,” he completed.
