Asghar Fakhriyeh-Kashan, an advisor to the Iranian Roads and Urban Development Minister, said he has held a meeting with a group of South Korean investors and economic experts on Imam Khomeini International Airport’s development project.
With building two new terminals at the airport, its arrival and departure capacity will be boosted by 6 times, Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Abbas Akhoundi, said in June.
“We expect that by the next three years, the airport’s capacity would surge to 30 million passengers per year from the current 5 million passengers,” he added.
It is planned to open a second terminal of the Imam Khomeini airport in ten months, he said.
In September, French company AccorHotels signed a contract with Iran to open two new hotels near the airport.
