CMO chairman says unnecessary to hold march on Ashura day
The allegations that Imamzadeh sanctuary and mosque complex is closed are wrong and baseless. At the present, reconstruction work is underway in the mosque.
The mosque is not closed. I myself announced that people have to meet in Imamzadeh mosque on Ashura day. However, it is not necessary to hold a march and politicize these issues, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) told reporters on Oct.24.

Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanli said an event on the occasion of Ashura is being held in Shah Abbas mosque in Ganja.

Gurbanli went on to add that a march from Shah Abbas mosque to Imamzadeh sanctuary and mosque complex was not permitted as the distance between the two mosques is long.
