EU, CoE seek long-term cooperation with Azerbaijan in four areas
Eastern Partnership is of great importance for the European Union, head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Malena Mard said.

The ambassador made the remarks on Tuesday at the presentation ceremony of the European Union and Council of Europe Programmatic Cooperation Framework for Eastern Partnership countries.

She said cooperation with Eastern Partnership countries, including Azerbaijan basically covers four areas – provision of human rights, rule of law, democracy and freedom of media.

The ambassador went on to add that the EU and Council of Europe in intending to build long-term cooperation with Azerbaijan in these areas.

“30 million euros have been allocated to finance the program. 4.7 million euros will be allocated for the implementation of projects in Azerbaijan. The project is 90 percent funded by the EU and 10 percent by the CoE.
