North Korea to Convene First Ruling Party Congress in Decades
North Korea
According to the Korean Central News Agency, the seventh congress in the party’s history will convene in May 2016.

The party’s political bureau, cited by the Korean Central News Agency, said that the congress is needed due to a difficult and sacred task faced by the country to increase the pace of building "a thriving socialist nation."

The congress will also be the first held after Kim Jong Un became the leader of the isolated nation in December 2011.
