Azerbaijan to hold parliamentary elections today
Elections for the 5th convocation of the Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis (Parliament) will start today.

767 candidates vie for 125 seats in the parliament.

In total, 66,000 observers have been registered to monitor the election. They include 501 international observers representing 40 institutions from 27 countries.

Voting will start at 08:00am and end 07:00pm.

The Information Center of the CEC Secretariat will report on the voting procedure and its results within the day at 10:00am, 12:00pm, 03:00pm, 05:00pm and 07:00pm. The information on the voting procedure and its results are considered preliminary information with no legal importance.

In connection with the parliamentary elections, ELS Independent Studies Center and “Rey” Monitoring Centre will hold exit-polls independently, while the Center of Azerbaijan Youth Rights Protection jointly with France’s Opinion Way Sociological Research Institute, and the Citizens’ Labor Rights Protection League with the Arthur J. Finkelstein & Associates (AJF), an American polling firm.
