Deputy PM: Elections in Azerbaijan held successfully and democratically
Excluding a few minor flaws, the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan have been held successfully and democratically, Ali Ahmadov, YAP Deputy Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, told reporters.

He noted that the YAP party joined the election with 117 candidates and later on 2 candidates withdrew their candidacy.

“We think the New Azerbaijan Party is highly likely to win the election with a majority vote. We had won 71 seats in the election of 2010. I believe we can win the same number of seats this time as well. There are grounds for it because Azerbaijan has developed dynamically over the past years thanks to the successful policy carried out by our party’s chairman, President Ilham Aliyev. The Azerbaijani people’s social welfare is getting better daily. This is indicative of the people’s strong confidence in our party,” he said, adding that the YAP will preserve the majority seat in parliament.
