Azerbaijani parliamentary election fully consistent with world standards
The parliamentary election was fully consistent with international standards in Azerbaijan, Wolfgang Grossruck, the vice-president of the Austrian parliament [part of a delegation of the European Academy for Election Observation], said at a press-conference on parliamentary election in Azerbaijan Nov. 2
Grossruck said that some 12 experts from different European institutions having great experience on this issue observed the election.

"Most of observers arrived in Azerbaijan a few days before the election,” he said. “Therefore, they failed to review the pre-election campaign. But I want to stress that in general, the election was held at a high level."

The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) has summed up the preliminary voting results at the parliamentary election held Nov. 1.

The election declared valid. The turnout was 55.7 percent. More than 2.89 million people voted in the election, which is six percent more than at the previous parliamentary election.

The names of the leading candidates in all 125 constituencies have been recently disclosed
