Azerbaijan held free and democratic election
Azerbaijan has managed to hold free and democratic parliamentary election, Miroslav Merka, who is a member of the Romanian delegation of MPs that observed the Azerbaijani election on Nov.1, told reporters in Baku on Monday.
He said the delegation observed the election in Baku and suburban settlements.

According to him, organizational activities were at a high level in each polling station.

“The candidates’ representatives acted in accordance with the Electoral Code. Our cards were checked and registered. We monitored the election from the beginning to the end. The election process took place normally in all polling stations we visited. Portable ballot boxes were available for disabled and old people”, he said.

Merka added that they held a conversation with the candidates’ representatives and the commission members.

“Representatives of either government or opposition candidates, as well as non-party candidates were in the polling stations. Their representatives also mentioned that no incident occurred and the election was held under normal conditions. The voter turnout was high enough. Even blind voters didn’t stay out of the voting,” he said.

Other members of the Romanian delegation Lillana Ciobanu and Razvan Rotaru said that the election was held in a free and democratic atmosphere.
