Iranian supreme leader names country`s #1 enemy
The Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused the US of creating various plots against Iran throughout time.
Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with university and school students on Nov. 3 on the eve of the 1979 takeover of the US Embassy in the capital city of Tehran by some revolutionary Iranian university students, Khamenei’s official website reported.

On November 4, 1979, a group of revolutionary students took over the US Embassy which they believed had turned into a “den of espionage” which aimed to overthrow the nascent Islamic Republic establishment.

“US den of espionage docs show that at the climax of revolutionary movement and the Islamic revolution victory, the US was constantly plotting against the Islamic Republic,” Khamenei said, underlining that this is the true face of the United States.

He also accused some Iranian politicians of neglecting the enemy due to some unimportant domestic differences.

“Don’t confuse the main enemy with the less important enemies or friends who have differences with you,” he said.

Khamenei added that the US in recent years got some people to pretend that if the US was hostile in the past, today it behaves differently, to hide its true face.
