NATO - Providing weapons to Karabakh conflict sides harms solution process
Any country that provides weapons to one of the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict doesn’t contribute to the conflict’s settlement, NATO Liaison Officer in the South Caucasus William Lahue said at the press conference held within NATO Week in Armenia, news.am reported.

He said that NATO is not directly involved in the settlement process.

“There are organizations that are dealing with this issue. The ongoing problem is affecting the whole region. It has negative impact not only on the security, but also on the future of the region and its economic development,” he noted.

The NATO officer went on to add that the deployment of peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh is not included in the Alliance’s objectives. “It can be discussed depending on the willingness of Armenia, Azerbaijan and other interested parties,” he said.
