Leyla Aliyeva says honor to receive Russia`s state award - VIDEO
“It is a great honor for me to receive Russia`s state award - Medal of Pushkin, Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR), said at the ceremony honoring the National Unity Day in Kremlin on November 4.

Congratulating the Russian president on the occasion of the National Unity Day, Aliyeva expressed gratitude for the high appreciation of her activity.

“A monument to the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin was erected in the center of Baku as Azerbaijani people’s symbol of respect to the Russian culture, literature and art,” she said.

Aliyeva said Azerbaijani-Russian relations have deep historical roots, noting that these relations are successfully developing. “The humanitarian field is an integral part of bilateral relations,” she said.

“Azerbaijan has preserved education in Russia. The Russian language is taught at more than 30 schools. Baku Slavic University and the Baku branch of Moscow State University are functioning. A while ago, a branch of I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University was inaugurated in Baku”, Aliyeva added.

Aliyeva mentioned that the Azerbaijani people highly appreciate the cultural and humanitarian relations with Russia.

“I am very pleased for my contributions for the neighborly and friendly relations between our countries. Once again, I express my gratitude to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for the highest award. It is appreciable for me to receive this award from you”, she said.
